Creating the Bathtub Race Boat

It's a very long and smelly process to build a fiberglass boat. The latter led to numerous moves from workshop to workshop. As of this writing (a thursday in March) we've just put down some concrete to build a new workshop at a top secret location. We've popped the hull from the mold and it looks superb though. When we can get it out of the basement it's currently stored in we'll get some shots.

Painstakingly applying layer after layer of wax like the Karate Kid. Rub on, Rub off Stirring General Purpose Fiberglass Resin with the MEKP Catalyst to form the brown goop that melds the fibers together into pure love applying fiberglass resin cloth

trimmed bathtub fiberglass part This is the form we borrowed from an awesome Guy named Sean (trough Aaron, another helpful bathtubber). It's fiberglass with a shiny gelcoat on the inside. We've applied many coats of mold-release wax at this point. new workshop tent bathtub hull mold ready

Adding more OSB Sheathing to the end wall of the general purpose shed that will be used to complete the boat this spring Sheating the roof of the bathtub factory/potting shed Adding the last couple panels to the roof of the new shop we have to use for finishing off the tub The framed shed before the OSB... man i hate OSB!
The shed is ready to be heated and put to use before being sided... some time after the tub is built The hull has been trimmed and is ready for some filler to hide our sins. We figure that with a 225lb+ pilot, this boat may benefit from some reinforcement under the tub. Getting an idea of what it will look like?
TOHATSUUUUU!!! We have a motor!... well kinda. It's paid for and in Vancouver but it'll be in our grasps this Sunday... whole uncut cut stern transom
